The Trees of LaFramboise

It's still unknown how all the trees around the Missouri River will do after last years flood.  I'm hoping the cottonwoods on LaFramboise Island make it through, or this will some of the last shots I get of them.  I like to shoot them this time of year from this angle across the causeway.  They get some nice backlighting and really glow in the mid-afternoon sun.  You have to do it before they get too many leafs and the canopy blocks the light.  It makes for some great abstracts that I'll post soon as well.

Looking for a little magic hour.

I was digging a little deeper into my shots from last year and finding a few that I had passed on at the time.
It's always good to take a fresh look at some of the older shots and put them through some new processing to see what happens.  I just like the magic hour light in this one.  I think one of my new goals for this year is to work in this light a bit more and see what happens.  It's always a great time to shot and the photos usually can really come alive with a little post work.

Rainy day lilacs

I was a bit worried about the lilacs and flowers around town with the cold temps this last week.  But they seem to be doing well.  Hopefully I'll get a chance to some more after the rains today.

Lilac abstract wallpaper

This is a lilac abstract that I'm using for wallpaper right now - that seems to be what most of these are good for!  Something to get in the spring mood anyway.

Sign Owl

This was the only thing close to a good raptor shot I got this winter.  He was very cooperative, barely even payed attention to me.  He just needed to be on a better perch.  Maybe he was just looking for snowy owls too.
